I did a lot of research before I purchased this refrigerator. I understood that it would be best for people that lived in dorms or had light use. That being said, I did expect it to keep food at or below 32F. It does not. I believe it can if you stuff it with soda cans and frozen food. I was placing vegetables and meat that did not keep as long as I needed.. It did not matter if I cranked it to 6. The little freezer could only do so much.It is quiet except when expelling heat and that doesn't last too long depending on what you have stored. You can't even store a pint of ice cream in it for more than an hour unless you intend to drink your Rocky Road.I purchase a small freezer a few weeks later. It was a good thing I did. I use old juice bottles to drop the temp in the refrigerator. I cycle items from the freezer to the fridge as needed. It works and I feel better about food safety. My second issue with is is the nature of how these little refrigerators work; they expel heat from the sides of the box. In the winter I'm really going to appreciate this but in the summer? Yowser! The sides get very warm to hot. You have to have clearance around the item and do not have anything remotely flammable near it. However if you are baking bread and need a warm place set that bad boy in a glass bowl next to this fridge.Tiny house people I'd have to say no; you have to have air clearance around this item. Also the lower back is exposed and it looks janky back there. If you have pets you have to block off the back area as a pass through port. If I could have sent it back after the 2nd week I would have but the way they cut the box at the bottom (for easy removal) also make it hard to return the item as well. I have no way of rebinding the wrapping tape either so I'm stuck with it.Dorm life yes. Real life maybe.great size, its big but doesn't take up lot of room. holds a surprisingly large amount of stuff- gets really cold----LOVE THAT. THE PRICE WAS UNBEATABLE. THE same size fridge (we had been looking for sometime) was ALWAYS a minimum of 2 ½ or 3 times the price of this one, and you had to haul this awkward large box home and drag it inside. If you need and extra fridge for pop, milk, juice, extra cold space for holiday cooking, a fridge for an RV or Camper- a fridge for the garage that your husband can actually keep and made his own snacks and sandwiches.for himself and the nerd herd of guys friends that hang outing the man cave, or for certain if you are sending your kid off to college or a small first apt- it is a MUST. A gallon of milk in this fridge takes up about the same amount of space as a quart of milk and a pound of butter would in a regular size fridge. The best thing is ITS SO COLD with a thermostat adjusting from 0-7. If you are like us, and love COLD COLD cans of soda pop- this IS for you.I, like many other people, got my refrigerator with EXTREMELY bad packaging. It literally is just thin cardboard taped to the sides. Thankfully all I had was an uneven base fixed by cardboard. The cooling is very good. At max, freezer is around 12*f, refrigerator is 33*f. Considering how cheap this is, it works well into the desired temperature ranges. Defrosting never happens as I had this for a week and no water was detected in the collection tray; talk about reliable! For a compact refrigerator, space is not a concern here. It is about half the size of a normal refrigerator. I can fit at least two weeks of food for two people here. The freezer is a little disappointing because it's extremely small, but does an adequate job; you won't be able to store a big bag of something in it.I'd really buy this again, since my week of ownership gave nothing but good impressions. The packaging still pisses me off, and it seems Amazon never learns.Like many others, the fridge arrived with significant dents and bowing on the rear corners, underside, and even the freezer shelf is so bowed its not level with the others. Also, my fridge has no light in it (part of the reason I chose this fridge over others) but it has an area and hardware behind the thermostat, which is where other customers' lights are located telling from the photos, where a light could be snapped into place but there is nothing there! I also didn't get a drawer, which I noticed others received as well. Here's hoping I can buy those RCA accessories separately. Finally, my fridge door matches the door in the product photo, but the body is different. It looks like others have gotten the same body I have (but they got a bottom drawer and a light too* sigh*) with a different door from the product photo. It seems like these things are just being frankensteined together with whatever parts are available.Overall, it's an ok cheap fridge that functions as it should. Anyway, I took a chance after reading other reviews about damage and for what it cost I can live with the imperfections, but I would suggest going to a brick-and-mortar store if you want to avoid disappointment.Ok, this was a gift for my son who is going off to college next fall. I have to say after reading all the reviews I did not know what to expect. What I got was a perfect little fridge. It has a light, it's so quiet I can't hear it. I plugged it in and was afraid it was not working because I didn't hear anything. I let it run over night, then put some glasses of water in it to make sure it was working. In a short time they were cold. I am going to get a thermometer for it and will update my post to let everyone know what setting seems to be the best. The fridge arrived with zero defects, a lot of reviews said it was packaged bad. Ok that's all I have for now.
