This was ordered to keep some rather expensive red wine bottles cool enough to stop them degrading. When delivered, the fridge was well packed - with the box strapped so that the cooler could be unpacked by cutting the straps and lifting the top packing off. This revealed a very smart fridge that looked more expensive than its cost - if you look carefully very similar fridges cost about £50 more, though warranty may be different.Build quality and appearance are very good. Noise in operation is very low, with the quiet compressor hardly being noticeable other than in a bedroom at night.Power consumption is low - measured at 50W by my smart meter when operating. The on/off cycle time depends on the ambient and temperature setting. My use is to stop wine going off and so the ON time was about 10% with an ambient of about 25 degrees C and a set temperature of 17 degrees C (ok to stop wine over cooking). This setting represents a very low annual running cost. Lower temperatures will cause the compressor to run for more of the time and increase energy use.There is a temperature gradient of about 1.5 degrees C from the fridge inside top to bottom - nothing to be concerned about as there isn't a fan. Temperature control was accurate and represented the temperature higher up the fridge.The fridge instructions suggest a set temperature of 12 degrees C, though the most appropriate setting depends on how long the wine is to be stored and the wine type. If the cooler is used to try and cool drinks to low temperatures towards 5 degrees C the energy consumption will increase. It may be better to cool drinks in a regular fridge if a very low temperature is the aim, though the cooler does look very smart with its blue light and smart styling.Overall, a well designed and very smart wine cooler that can be used to store wines for some time while preventing them being degraded by higher temperatures, as well as cooling wines down for impending consumption. Great value too.
