This fridge will not keep ice cream bars solid. The top area is not a traditional freezer. It is just colder than the main compartment. It would also be nice if there was a light in it. I keep a small flashlight on the top to provide visibility. Other than those two things it is working as expected. Be careful when you put food items along the right edge of the top shelf of the main compartment. I put a couple small packages there the other day and they must have rolled the thermostat knob to its lower setting. I opened the door and noticed the top (sort of freezer) area was defrosting and water was dripping out. I emptied the fridge and noticed that the knob was at its lowest setting. Lesson Learned.Update: Lately the door keeps popping open. I would shut it and come back a few minutes later and it would be cracked open. What fixed it was just wiping down the contact area along the door where the rubber seal meets. But it does not take much pressure to have it pop open. Just be sure it is closed before you walk away.It had so many dents, I had help to get it up to my room and did not want to re-box and carry it back down the stairs. The refrigerator arrive in the manufactures box and was damaged on the right side of the door…. Works ok, but will seek compensation for the cosmetic damageI am really happy with this purchase. If you are looking for one of those tiny fridges, to store a few sodas and a sandwich at work, or a small one for a dorm for leftovers or whatever, this is probably more than you need. I think it would actually be ideal for a single person as to run it costs less than $30 a year, or thereabouts, as compared to the big, full sized refridgerators, meant for a family. That said, it is actually very spacious, and you can fit quite a bit in there. The holders in the door are super handy too. It has glass shelves, which are much nicer and far easier to clean than wire racks. It is quiet and gets very cold, very fast, and you can adjust the temperature to suit your needs. The freezer area is small, but that is normal for a mini-fridge and considering that, this one actually has a larger freezer area than many I have seen. A great price and arrived very fast, in great condition.after reading other reviews, I was hessitant to buy this. Sure glad I did. It works great, is fairly quiet, and meets all expectations for a frig. It maintains the refrigerator compartment at 33 degrees while being set just below the middle of the thermostat. My only complaint are 2 very small dents in the stainless door. This cosmetic flaw was too small to complain about, but did not happen in shipping - the frig was packed with the small dents.Even so, it is still pleasant looking.Overall, very good product. What a great surprise!UPDATE JULY 2011 - constant use for 2 1/2 years. works great. no problems. Just be sure you read the manual and follow instructions about leaving enough air space around the coils to provide adequate ventillation.I know anyone with a frig this good will be pleased. It is the perfect fridge for our officeKeeps all our drinks coldLarger than we thought it would be.My daughter's college had a limit of 5 cubic ft for the dorm rooms so we thought we'd get close to the max. Apparently, I am not familiar with the sizes of appliances, so when this arrived we were very surprised at how large it was. With my daughters bed set at the highest level it can be raised, this refrigerator fits underneath she needs a stool to get on bed now, but it doesn't leave a footprint in the room so that's good. She and her roommate share it since it's very roomy. The have no complaints. It keeps everything cold. No disturbing noise keeping them awake. Plenty of room. And the stainless steel looks nice.As for cleaning it... They're college kids, they haven't mentioned that they've done that yet.... Maybe I'll update this when she's home for the summer.hoodwinked by amazon.ca!! ordered the rca 4.5 cubic with 59.7 cm x 55.9 cm x 86.4 cm (23.5"D x 22"W x 34"H) but received an Igloo 22.5"D x 19'W x 33"H. After spending $$ on a double tap kegerator conversion kit, I can only fit 1 corny or 1 1/6 keg!! Total bummer! I'm so busy with family & work that I can't justify taking the time/hassle to return it. So Amazon.ca got my limited cash but I will never order from there again! On the positive, the fridge works great (only 2 weeks old though) and if someone is looking for a smaller fridge, good deal. Good riddance Amazon.ca :(Ok so fridge seems fine. I received wrong fridge first three times, was Igloo fridge, a very poorly reviewed fridge on Amazon.com. On this 4th attempt after extreme headaches and 20 hours dealing with UPS and Amazon for a variety of issues, i finally received the right fridge on the 51st day after ordering. So please beware receiving an Igloo fridge and you should reject the delivery and contact amazon customer support. You may be fine with the Igloo fridge and if so great, but it might not be worth the risk.Overall the fridge itself is fine, stainless steel which is real instead of stainless steel 'look' on other products is main attraction for me and the RCA seems to be a reliable product judging by Amazon.com reviews so overall seems like good bang for your buck. Very very quiet, that was also a big issue.I love my fridge and the capacity it has for holding cans. Although I ordered an RCA fridge I've received an Igloo. The quality was a bit disappointing. It looks and feel cheap. Not as good as ones that I have purchased by Danby, GE & FridigairGreat value for the money.
